I completely agree with you.  I feel that if we focus our attention on the
literacy part of our interview it is much easier to find the material we need
to be helpful to the individual.  This is a literacy history  not a mental
health survey or something that is going to go in some one's file and who
knows where it goes from there.  That is why it is very important that the
staff, teachers, administrators, know how the information on a form is linked
to literacy.  Otherwise we are just messing around in other people's lives,
and I think that is unconscionable. This implies a good deal of learning on
the part of the professionals on the other side of the desk/
