NLA Info: Immigrant Issues

NLA...The issue is not all " immigrant issues",  the issue I addressed 
specifically is    whether or not  people without citizenship should be able 
to contribute $$ to U.S.  campaigns. This is not "learning" about 
citizenship. Few immigrants, at least the esl population  we serve can afford 
to contribute to campaign..but that is not the issue either. The privileges  
of  citizenship   should be afforded to those with citizenship.Our 
responsibility is to teach what the privileges of citizenship are. Again, the 
view of one advocate who has been in the process a long time...Esl classes    
    and citizenship classes are provided in the adult education legislation.  
We should not encourage other legislation to duplicate the same activity.
