NLA Colleagues,

The National Center for Family Literacy has put out a practical, very
attractive, comic book format mailing of suggestions for Family
Literacy Day.  I especially like the sample press release and list of
items to think of when inviting an elected official to a Family
Literacy Day Celebration.

Jaded (and other) congresspeople might welcome an opportunity to 
to get out of Washington, D.C. for a wholesome event in the home district.
November first, Family Literacy Day, might be just that opportunity for
them and for your favorite local family literacy program.
