[Moderator's Note:  If you access the site Brent references in his message 
today, 6/8, I suppose you will see the joke he is referencing.  After
that, since the site is called Joke a Day, you may see a different one. I
don't know if what Brent has cited is an example of this, but I think
political cartoons -- particular those which might pertain to adult
literacy public policy -- might make a nice contribution to the NLA list.

I just ran across the Joke of the Month (http://ajokeaday.com/mainfr.htm).
Please visit this site and read the Joke of the Month. I thought this joke
might shed some light on the "Plain English" discussion. 

I am sorry that you have to visit the above Internet site to read the joke.
I tried unsuccessfully to copy and paste the joke. This joke should help
clarify our understanding of the "Plain English" discussion or problem.
