NLA Info:Delaware Transportation Agreement

Last week Delaware Adult Education programs completed the establishment of a
new program in cooperation with the Delaware Authority for Regional Transit.
DART as it is commonly known here in Delaware provides transportation services
throughout the state.

The new program "Register for Your Future"  provides free transportation to
adults throughout the state to register for adult education programs.  The
service is provided to locations currently on established bus routes and
offers a ride to the program to register and a ride back home.  Interested
adults just call a program,  tickets are mailed to them and a connection is
made for programming.  Advertising is being provided by DART statewide as well
as through posters on the each bus.

This new program was negotiated through the Interagency Council for Adult
Literacy and DART.  We in Delaware look at this as being a major step in
getting government agencies to work more closely together.
