The discussion on Welfare Reform and Welfare to Work is great!
I want to jump in here and ask everyone to help me determine what
professional development activities would be most effective for adult
eudcators during this time of transition. Jeff Gove said, >"Both Welfare
Reform and Welfare-to-Work have been catalysts for us to review our purpose,
our mission, our customers, and our services. Whether we want to our not,
our customers are changing, their needs are changing, and we need to accept
this and strategically plan for how we can best evolve ourselves, to adjust
to these changes. We need to identify Professional Development needs of the
field to enhance our capacity to change. All of this will take time."<
My role with adult education is that of professional development coordinator
for the 24 western counties in Kentucky and I struggle with what
professional development SHOULD look like in order to equip our instructors
to deal with these changes.
Any suggestions?
Nancy
