NLA DIscussion:Student organizations and conferences

After reading about the workforce bill (H. R. 1385) posted by Alice
Johnson, I feel that in the upcoming Adult Learner Leadership Workshop
in Normal, Illinois this August, the attendees should have time to
discuss the workforce bill.  We are planning to talk about how we see
adult literacy in this country and how we think it can be improved.  I
also think that we as adult learners should talk with the states that
don't have adult learner organizations about organizing  in their
states, like we have just done here in Iowa.   This leadership workshop
would be a good place to have an adult student leader be part of this
discussion.  If you are thinking about sending a student leader to the
workshop there is still time.
