*"Through a joint focus on policy and program implementation, Accelerating
Opportunity will change the way Adult Basic Education is structured, funded,
and delivered at the state and institutional levels...... Accelerating
Opportunity **aims to address these systemic issues so that more adult
learners can access the education and training they need to support their
families and begin a successful career."*

I thought you might be interested in the first of these articles from JFF
(maybe the others, too!), especially in light of recent discussions. It's
on the subject of moving ABE more towards inclusion of workforce
development, especially job readiness certification.
I believe it is and will continue to be influential in state and Federal
policy and funding efforts that affect ABE. It basically makes the case
for the way DESE is looking at the "career pathways" funding and also the
broad direction things seem to be moving in general.
