Goal Setting in the Program

Dear Colleagues,

Setting effective, realistic and attainable student goals should be at
the heart of every ABE program. In order to support learners' goal
attainment, goals need to be integrated throughout your program. This
four hour workshop will provide you with the hands-on opportunity to
learn how to integrate student goals into your classroom practice and
throughout your program. This workshop is being held on Wednesday,
February 27, 2008 on-site at Everett Literacy Program. The
facilitators will be Carol Bower and Heidi Perez.

As a result of this dynamic workshop participants will:

* understand the value of setting goals for the learner, the
teacher and the program

* understand the components of the goal setting process and the
application of these various components

* learn about some goal setting activities that you can apply
with your adult learners

* develop an action plan for integrating goal setting into your
classroom
