XP SP3 is Coming!
Talk about this has been spreading like wildfire all over the Internet, so I'm sure most of you already know, but just in case you don't, allow me to fill you in. Microsoft finally made the announcement that the Windows XP Service Pack 3 will make its debut on April 29, 2008 (that's only a few days away!) XP users have been waiting on this for a very long time, so it's wonderful to finally have an exact release date. Keep reading for all the details you'll need to know to get the XP SP3 for yourself!
On April 29 (next Tuesday), you will be able to download the SP3 through either the Windows Updates or on Microsoft's Web site. For now, the update is not required, but Microsoft will be including it with the Windows Updates for June, which will be released on June 10, 2008. So, if you don't download it now, you will be required to get it later. But, just so we're clear, the SP3 is something that will benefit all XP users, so there's not really any reason why you shouldn't download it as soon as you can.
The XP SP3 improves on security and it bumps up the network related capabilities. That may not seem like anything real major, but they are important updates. Also, just so you know, the SP3 will work on Windows XP Home Edition, Professional Edition, Tablet PC Edition and the Media Center Edition. It's also required that you at least have the SP1 installed on your computer before you download the SP3. Other than that, just be patient for a few more days and then the SP3 will be all yours.
