[Nesabes] Reminder Counselor Sharing Seminar - "One Head, Many Hats"

Dear ABE Counselors and Student Support Facilitators:

 

The next Counselor Sharing Seminar will take place on Wednesday,
December 5, 2007 from 1:00-3:30pm at NECC-Lawrence and will once again
be facilitated by Laura Kranis.

 

Attached please find the notes from the last sharing seminar in October.


 

The topic for this coming session is "One Head, Many Hats."  We will
discuss the range of roles and responsibilities of counselors/student
support facilitators in ABE/ESOL programs, with a focus on
problem-solving.

Participants are asked to think about how the parts of their jobs fit
together, whether their roles ever conflict, and students' and staff
members' understanding of the counselor's role.  Participants may also
bring a copy of their job description (if convenient).
