[Nesabes] Intermediate Pronunciation Strategies Reminder

Dear Colleagues,
Building upon many of the concepts and strategies presented in
"Introduction to Teaching Pronunciation in the ESOL Classroom", this
workshop will help participants explore ways to give effective feedback
to students to help them improve their pronunciation in English, and to
apply techniques to target specific pronunciation issues. Through an
awareness of the physiological and psychological components involved in
pronunciation, participants will learn how to enable their students to
become more independent learners who will be in better control of their
English pronunciation.
The focus of this session will be on analyzing both segmental and
supra-segmental features of specific language groups and then designing
a plan of action to address those issues
Where: The Lowell Adult Education Center, 408 Merrimack Street,
Lowell, MA 01854
When: Friday, November 16, 2007 from 4:00pm-8:00pm
Prerequisite: Participants should have previously attended the
"Introduction to Teaching Pronunciation in the ESOL Classroom".
Presenter: Laurie Hartwick is a teacher for the Lawrence Public
Schools High School Learning Center. She has taught both adults and
adolescents in the Center's various programs.
