The Waltham Even Start Program, The Waltham Family School: Job openings
beginning Sept. 1, 2007.

.

The Waltham Family School  (WFS) serves families who are learning
English with preschool children ages 3-5 and kindergarten children in
the Sheltered English Immersion Program of the Waltham Public Schools.
The program is held Tuesday-Friday mornings from 8:30-12:00 p.m. at the
South School Building, 510 Moody Street, Waltham. Adult and preschool
classes are offered on site. We anticipate that weekly all-staff
meetings will be on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:30 p.m. 

 

Adult ESOL Teachers: Adult ESOL teacher for one of  3 levels of ESOL
including Beginning ESL Literacy, Beginner ESL and Intermediate ESL.
Responsibilities also include Parenting Class  and Educational
Counseling.   Class hours are Tues-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Staff
and team meetings times to be scheduled.  Part time position for 43
weeks including the summer program. Adult Ed ESOL classes are offered in
collaboration with the Power Program, which is the DOE funded ABE
program in Waltham. Please send resume and letter of interest to

Home Visitors/Interactive Literacy Teachers: The Home Visitors visit
families for one hour once a month; the visits will be scheduled by the
home visitor/families at a mutually convenient time Mon-Fri afternoons
or on Monday mornings. The Home Visitors are also the Interactive
Literacy Teachers. The Interactive Literacy class is held on Wednesday
8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The Home Visitor must be at the WFS from 8:30-1:30
p.m. on Wednesdays.   Team meetings and supervision time schedules TBD.
Part time position; on average 10-12 hours/week for 43 weeks including
the summer program. Home Visiting and Interactive Literacy are offered
in collaboration with the Parent Child Home Program of Newton Community
