Dear Colleagues,
SABES offers a free, non-moderated, online course entitled Fundamentals
of Assessments to all Massachusetts practitioners. The course will
provide you with a fairly solid understanding of the basics of
standardized assessment, such as reliability and validity, and help you
bridge these concepts into classroom practice.
If you pass the Final Test your name will be entered into SMARTT and you
will be awarded with a Competence rating. Remember, it's all online,
can be stopped and started, and takes about 2-3 hours of total time to
complete.
To enroll, take the following steps:
Go to this link: http://moodle.literacytent.org/
Click on "Distance Learning"
Click on "Fundamentals of Assessment"
When the enrollment page opens, do not login but go to the right side of
the page click on Open a New Account.
You will receive a password by email.
You will also need the enrollment code, which is "mockup."
When you get your password, you can login as a student and begin the
course.
Good luck and enjoy!
Carol
