The Immigrant Learning Center in Malden has an opening for a teacher in our
afternoon ESL program. We are looking for a teacher who is flexible and
interested in teaching high-beginning to low advanced students in a variety
of classes. Our afternoon program is uniquely designed to be flexible
enough to accommodate students with busy schedules. We offer three levels
of Reading, Writing, and Grammar classes, and two levels of Vocabulary,
Conversation, and Pronunciation classes. We are looking for teachers who
are comfortable teaching different skills and levels. Our student body is
diverse and highly motivated, and we have a great staff and a very pleasant
facility in Malden Center.
We are currently accepting applications for one teaching position beginning
August 27, 2007 and continuing for approximately 45 weeks per year. This
position is for four afternoons per week, Mon-Thurs from 12:30 to 3:00. It
has ten teaching hours and six hours of paid prep time.
Our starting salary is $16 per hour. We also have paid staff and program
development hours available. We have opportunities for on-site staff
development activities, and our afternoon program is currently involved in a
curriculum development project.
After one year, teachers get two personal days, two paid holidays, and one
week of paid vacation.
