Subject: Opportunity: Nellie Mae Education Foundation Seeks Senior
Program Officer
Dear Colleague:
The Nellie Mae Education Foundation, the largest philanthropy in New
England devoted exclusively to education, seeks a Senior Program
Officer. This represents an exciting opportunity for someone to join a
team charged with creating a bold, new agenda for a foundation with more
than $486 million in net assets. Ideal candidates must possess
exceptional leadership skills and want to work toward a transformation
of the educational landscape to dramatically improve educational
outcomes for all learners-especially underserved populations.
Although the College Prep initiative will continue, our work in Adult
Literacy, Minority High Achievement and Out-of-School Matters is
scheduled to end--providing an opportunity to refocus our strategy and
resources. Areas we are exploring include early learning, alternatives
to traditional school structures, as well as multiple and truly
effective pathways to higher education.
We will continue to fund research that examines educational opportunity
issues and to convene educators, policymakers and community members in
order to advance knowledge within the field. We will also maintain
efforts to influence policy at the state, regional and national level.
For more information on our current work, please visit www.nmefdn.org
<http://www.nmefdn.org/> .
Qualified individuals interested in applying for the Senior Program
Officer position must submit a letter outlining their qualifications and
a resume by April 15 to:
