[Nesabes] news regarding Microsoft IE new release

To all SMARTT data entry people, techs, and those who use Windows Internet Explorer:
Microsoft has recently released IE version 7 and included it in their latest updates. Some of your programs may not yet work correctly with it, so please see the information below:
 
Internet Explorer Version 7  is included in the new Windows updates but you might want to hold off installing it.  Turns out COGNOS and IE7 are not fully in synch yet.  None of the actual COGNOS data is affected or in danger, just little things like certain icons don't show up and such -- in other words, enough of a pain to recommend not using IE7. The DOE team is currently trying to iron out the discrepancies and will let us know when COGNOS is IE7 compatible.

In the meantime, you may want to do custom installs of the Windows Updates and just uncheck IE7 from the install list.  If your Windows Update automatically installed IE7 already, you can uninstall it (using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel) and IE6 will be come the
default version.

Here's a utility that will prevent the Automatic Windows Updates from installing IE7 and keep your machine running the IE6:
