1. Membership Opportunities
Originally formed as a coalition of coalitions, the Mass Workforce Alliance has opened its membership categories to allow individuals and organizations in the workforce development field to join us directly. One benefit to membership that we are particularly excited about is to offer the first 50 organizations or individuals the opportunity to be listed on the updated version of our famous "Money Flow Chart." Other benefits include:
a.. Eligibility to run for open seats on the Board of Directors
b.. Eligibility to join open subcommittees of the Board
c.. Reduced rates for PEER trainings in your organization
d.. Priority for your clients participating MWA projects or events
e.. Other benefits TBD
The cost of membership is $150 for organizations and $50 for individuals. Checks can be sent to:
Massachusetts Workforce Alliance
6 Beacon Street, Suite 415
Boston, MA 02108
Email us if you need an invoice at deborah at massworkforcealliance.com.
2. Giveline -- A New Way to Donate to Mass Workforce Alliance:
There is a new way to support the Mass Workforce Alliance when you shop online. Giveline has over a million bestselling products, and every purchase you make generates a donation. Giveline contributes between 7 and 33 percent of product sales to the selected charity, with a store-wide average of nearly 16 percent per transaction. The amount to be donated to charity varies by product; however, they have an "open book" policy that displays the exact amount on every product page as well as throughout the checkout process. We invite you to check out the store by clicking the following link: http://www.giveline.com/default.asp?v=V015356088 . Shop now to get FREE SHIPPING! (Use discount code NCD07 during checkout.)
3. Update of the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund
Email notices went out yesterday to everyone who applied for the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund. Comm Corp will release an official list of the 15 grant recipients and 5 planning grants soon. In addition, there will be a second round of funding in the fall of 2007. The exact amount of money in that pool is still being determined.
