We are emailing today to share three important pieces of information!

1. We broke 500! Our numbers are growing! We are pleased to welcome 100 new
members to MWA’s policy advocacy listserv. You are now one of over 500
workforce development professionals on this listserv -- a true force to be
reckoned with. We promise to update you on the most important policy issues and
opportunities in the workforce development arena, and look forward to seeing your
policy ideas submitted on MWA’s new website (see below). We hope that together
we can help deal with the work challenges you face every day.

2. MWA's New Leadership: As some of you may know, Geoff Beane, MWA’s founder,
has stepped down as Executive Director. We are grateful for Geoff's
pioneering vision and his continuing passion and devotion to MWA. We look forward to
working with him in the future.

The MWA Board of Directors welcomes Deborah Mutschler as MWA’s new Executive
Director. Deborah comes to us having been Executive Director of another
Massachusetts advocacy organization, and having recently completed her MBA at the
Heller School of Social Policy and Management. She looks forward to the
challenge of her new position and to meeting many of you in the coming weeks.

The extremely capable Alex Risley Schroeder will continue to be MWA’s
West/Central Coordinator and is the main contact person for MWA's PEER project.

3. Add your policy ideas to our website! We are excited about our new and
innovative website and invite you to visit it at www.peer.mwapolicy.org. At our
web-site you can:
* get information on MWA, our 10 Member Coalitions, download many of our
publications, and learn about/join MWA’s PEER Project.
* submit your policy issues and recommendations to the website. It's quick
and easy for you to add your voice to the policy discussion. Take a few
minutes to visit and share your thoughts, and see what your colleagues across the
state are thinking.
* give us feedback so we can improve the website over the coming months!

Again, welcome to our new members!!
