The Massachusetts Workforce Alliance is launching an innovative PEER Project
this summer. The project will employ 20 - 25 Community Educators statewide
who will provide local groups of education and training staff with information
on the workforce development system, an understanding of key policies, and
options for how to carry out policy advocacy.
MWA seeks Community Educators who (1) are working in skill training, youth
employment, adult education, and related programs in Massachusetts, (2) hold
jobs of all kinds – from frontline staff to director, and (3) have already done
advocacy work and who have not. Qualifications include a belief that the
workforce development system needs to and can improve, being a good listener, and
having a passion for policy and advocacy. Community Educators will be
trained in July and September.
Less than ten Community Educator positions are still open. This is very
part-time work (averaging about 60 hours per year) and will be paid on a
consultant basis.
Please see the attached one page Word document for further information.
We are planning our last introductory meeting – in Central Massachusetts –
for the end of June. If you are interested, please call Geoff Beane at
617-983-9259.
Thank you!
