MCAE: The Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education (MCAE) is a statewide
membership organization of educators, adult students, and others who support
equal educational opportunities for adults. MCAE is dedicated to the
advancement of adult education through high quality services and
professionalism in the field from basic literacy and English for Speakers of
Other Languages through transitions to post-secondary education. MCAE boasts
more than 1,000 members from community-based organizations, business and
industry, labor unions, libraries, school systems, non-profit organizations,
community colleges, correctional facilities, and colleges and universities.
The volunteer Public Policy Committee drives MCAEs Public Policy campaign
and initiatives with assistance from the MCAE staff. Each adult basic
education program has a designated Program Point Person responsible for
disseminating MCAE information to the program and encouraging local action.
