Absolutely. That's exactly the kind of thing it can/should be used for.

The archives are pretty straightforward, and can be accessed from the
list's main page at
<http://lists.literacytent.org/mailman/listinfo/literacytent-general>. This
information is also given in the header of each message posted to the list
(under "List Archive").
I will set up a sample list that you can look at with an admin
password. The admin features are really quite nice. I'll post the
list name and password shortly so you can kick it around.
BTW, your post was sent to me first because it surpassed a threshold that
made it look like it might be a subscribe or unsubscribe request, because
it contained some key words ("subscribers," "archives") in proportion to
the total length of the message that triggered the redirect to the list
admin (me) for approval. Interesting. Once I figured out why it did
that, it was a snap to just approve it and let it through. Seems the
algorithm needs a little tweaking. :)
