ICVV Colleagues,

Several people have joined us in the last few days. I hope everyone
-- including those new to the list -- will now post announcements of
what they are looking for this year in a class to match with. Post a
message to icvv at lists.literacytent.org saying what you are looking
for: age of students, country, kind of class - ESOL/ESL, ABE, GED,
K-12 -- what level?, vocational, other. Say where you are located and
provide this same kind of information about your own class(es).

When you see others' posts, consider if this would be a good class to
match with your class(es). If you need more information, e-mail the
person. Don't wait too long. Most of the posting activity will be in
September and October. The schedule of the visits could vary, but
some will start soon.

The idea is, you match your class with another teacher's class, and
when you have a match, let Susan Gaer and me know.

Wiki

I have updated the International Classroom Virtual Visit (ICVV)
Project Wiki. Those who wish to, once they have their classes
matched, could use the wiki to put up their web pages, with a link to
the front page of the ICVV Wiki (where it now says {Class Page One}
etc). The new wiki is easy to use, and I could provide some online
technical assistance if needed.

You will find the ICVV Wiki at:

http://writingtogether.pbwiki.com/ICVV

If you want to add text, or your classes' web pages, to the ICVV
Wiki, let me know and I'll email you the password. Of course, if you
prefer to use your own home page, wiki or blog, go right ahead.
