HI
This is such an interesting concept. I finished my project in Santa Barbara and they did it with no Internet connection. You can see the site at http://susangaer.googlepages.com/santaanacollegeandsantabarbarawakecenter
The photos are not linked because we didn't get to get permission forms. We had multiple tragedies this semester...A car ran into my classroom, I was sick for three weeks. We had major fires which impeded everyone's ability to breath and at the end of the semester my father in law died and I had to take care of family business. All this in such a short semester......September-December. So no photos. We did get the project done and like I said Santa Barbara had no Internet connection. This project was a complete view of the "I won't give up" attitude.
So I am looking for a partner for next semester.

Here's an idea for your matched classes:
Go to http://www.photonovel.ca/photonovels.htm
Stream or download one of the three (Canadian-developed) basic
English photo novels, and have your students discuss it with students
from the class you are matched with.
The first photo novel is on the problems of intercultural dating. The
second is on eating nutritiously, and the third is on pollution.
You could ask students to consider, among other things:
1. What is the problem portrayed in this photo novel?
2. Is this a problem here where we live? Is the problem the same as
in the photo novel or is it different in some way?
3. How could you get more information about the problem?
4. Would you like to make a photo novel? If so, what is the issue or
problem you would like it to address?
Please let us know if you think this is a good idea and if you plan
to try it.
