[Harold Smith]

My name is Harold Smith.  I teach at Wichita Area Technical College in
Wichita, Kansas, in the United States. I teach our distance learning
class, in which students do work on GED Online, and our Academic
Computer Lab. I also do some of our pre-testing and orientation of new
students and coordinate a technological learning system using a TV and
computers. I am coordinating our effort in the Classroom Virtual Visit;
the classes that will be participating are an ESL class that
participated last year and possibly an ABE class.  I will be
communicating with our teachers to see which classes may be interested
and getting the information on those classes so we can make matches.
The age of our classes vary quite a bit, from 16-66, although most are
in the 25-45 age range.  The ESL class that participated last year is a
beginning class and would likely want to be teamed with a class of
higher level ESL students or an ABE class.  The ABE class may be
interested in an ESL class or in a class of English speakers in another
country.  As soon as I get the definite information on the classes
participating and the type of class they would like to be matched with,
I will add that to this information. We have a student web page that we
are trying to update and add to in order to use it for communicating
with the matched classes in this project.  Thank you.
