Subject: How it is virtually going !!



             We are a success story this term using the list serve.  
That is I, Marc at WVU, and Sandra with 3d Campus, and Elena at Talis 
Education Center in Mari El, Russia.  I help Elena coordinate such 
activities in the states.  Using the list serve I have located students 
here in the states to share pen pal letters with Russian children 
learning English.  At first we were going to gather the letters for the 
children and distribute them as they arrived, etc... Kids will be 
kids... they have made friends and have taken up mailing each other.  
They basically cut the teachers out of the loop.  Which is OK with 
me with this project.  They are sharing cultural experiences and having 
fun with it.  Bravo!
 
             I have got an other letter form another teacher in the 
Mari El. Republic -- coincidence, Russia is hugh!.  I would like to 
touch base with her, as I go to Russia and spend the entire summers 
teaching.  I am planning more activities there including IT 
and language studies.  Perhaps I can visit her school. Perhaps we can 
help her find other children to pen pal with her students.
