Hello everyone,

Thank you to all the GLC members who made a splash at the New York City ABE Conference this weekend. A lot more people know about us and hopefully will join with us soon.

We will be having a meeting this Wednesday evening (May 12th), from 5:30-7:30pm at the Fortune Society (53 W. 23rd St., 7th floor) to continue planning our push for city council hearing on adult education. We will be working on planning our outreach to more programs in the city, so that we can expand our base and strengthen the coalition. We need people to coordinate mailings at their programs. We also need people who are willing to visit other programs to talk to managers, teachers and students about what we are trying to accomplish and collect anecdotes about everyone individual struggles in adult education.

I hope to see you there.
Eric

P.S. It looks like we will be meeting at the Fortune Society every Wednesday evening at 5:30pm until we get a hearing. If you can't come to meetings at this time, please e-mail one of us with your ideas or volunteer to take on some work.
