[GLCnews] literacy march at the republican convention

Hello-

At the last GLC meeting we discussed the possibility
of participating as a literacy contingent in the Still
We Rise/Poor Peoples March at the Republican National
Convention on August 30th. Five of us got together
last Wednesday to organize around making this happen.
We will be meeting during the next six weeks to work
on outreach to students, teachers, programs and others
in the literacy field in New York and possibly those
outside the city. We are also thinking about having a
literacy event of some sort around this time. 

Please join us if you are interested and available.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday 7/21 at 5:30 at the
Fortune Society (53 West 23rd st between 5th and 6th)
7th floor. If you are interested but can't make the
meeting, please let me know.
