Subject: immigrant workers' rights to a safe workplace

Hello GLCers:

NYCOSH is offering workshops for ESL teachers on immigrant workers' rights to a safe workplace.
What's NYCOSH, you ask? Visit their website: www.nycosh.org

The ESL teacher workshop demonstrates a popular education style, richly illustrated curriculum designed to help ESL students identify hazards on the job, understand their legal rights to a safe workplace, and develop an action plan to improve thier working conditions. All this, and follow up grammar activities too!

Wait! It gets even better! Not only is the workshop free, but participants are paid a stipend to come to it. And, NYCOSH will come out to your workplace to conduct it.

Here are the conditions:

1) Workshops must be held before June 30th in order for participants to be eligible for stipends.

2) NYCOSH prefers to have a minimum of six people per session.

3) Available workshop dates are: June 1,2,3 8,9,10 15-28, 30

If your organization is interested in following up on this, please contact me:
