[GLC] Chants for June 23rd Rally

Hi all, 

 

Attached is a sheet of chants and tips for the protest on June 23rd which
will take place outside the regional offices of the U.S. Department of
Education at 32 Old Slip in Manhattan.  Please share with your staff.  Even
if people aren't able to attend the protest this can be an interesting
source of conversation.

Protest in Support of Adult Literacy Programs 

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.

U.S. Department of Education Offices, 32 Old Slip

 

Subway: 2 or 3 to Wall Street. Exit at Wall St. and Williams St. Follow Wall
St. down hill (towards the East River). When you reach Front St. (one block
past Water St.), turn right and walk 1 block.

1. No Cuts! 

 

2. Education is a right. 

Fight! Fight! Fight!

 

3. --What do we want? 

      --Classes! 

      --When do we want them? 

      --Now!

 

 

***********Tips for the Picket***********

-->Keep moving

-->Do not block entrances

-->Make sure pedestrians can get past

-->Listen to the picket marshals for additional instructions
