[GLC] ACTIO ALERT!! Budget Neogatiating Team

Hi all,

 

We're down to the wire for the Immigrant Opportunities Initiative (IOI)
funding at $10 million.  

The City budget may be finalized as soon as Thursday, June 23rd!  

Please put one last ditch effort in to contacting your local City Council
members-with a particular emphasis on those listed below who are on the
budget negotiation team. Urge them to fund IOI at $10 million.  

 

Even if you've already talked to them, do it again.  There are a lot of
competing issues and we need IOI to stay near the top.

 

Come hand out flyers!

Attached is a flyer (two sided) that we will be distributing at City Hall
every day for the next week or however long until the budget is finalized.
We need people to come to City Hall to hand out these flyers to the Council
members as they go in and out of the building. This is a perfect opportunity
to play "Spot your Council Member." Last year one of the students from my
program handed a flyer to Mayor Bloomberg.  That was exciting for everyone.
