Hello to everyone in Bielefeld, Germany and New York City, New York, USA!

Everyone who receives this message is on a mailing list.

A mailing list allows us to send a message to one e-mail address and the list will forward the message to everyone on it. The address of this mailing list is. . .

        fortune-exchange1 at lists.literacytent.org

You can start your own thread (AKA conversation) by sending a new message to this address or you can reply to a message that has already been sent. If someone asks a question, it is best to reply to their message and leave the subject line unchanged. It will show up something like this:

Subject--> Re: How can I find Bielefeld on the map? (Re means "in regards to")

If you want to ask a question, you should start a new message and write an appropriate subject line. It should look something like this:

Subject--> How do you celebrate Christmas in the US?

If you get into a good conversation with someone on the other side of the water and you would like to send e-mails directly to individual e-mail accounts, that should be fine, but check with your teacher, Dieter or Eric, before you start a personal conversation.

I'm really looking forward to corresponding with all of you. And now, now, now, drum roll please, I need to know what you think. Who's got the first topic of conversation? Don't be shy. Send a message to fortune-exchange1 at lists.literacytent.org and remember that you are talking to at least ten people, on two continents!

See you on the web.
Eric
