Hello, everyone--here are some last minute details before the refresher

PAYMENT:  For those of you who are attending and currently working at a
program amendment, you will receive $300 for participating on the 16th.  I
so appreciate your making the effort to be there!  ACLS will be paying for
your attendance via budget amendments to your programs; this payment will be
bundled along with other items for a budget amendment, so it won't be the
only item in the amendment.  We had hoped that the Board of Education would
approve the budget amendments at their September meeting, but that is not
able to happen at this time, I'm sorry.  We are now planning for their
approval at the October Board meeting, along with the final FY06 budgets. So
you will be paid, but it sounds as if it will be after the fact.  Please let
your Program Director know.   

TIME:  We will begin the refresher at 12:30 pm, as everyone that I heard
from could make that start time.  Please plan to arrive a few minutes
earlier to sign in, get settled and get coffee and light refreshments (I'm
bringing them). We'll go until 5 pm.

TAGS:  Please bring your new TAGs (or your old TAGs in addition if you have
any questions with them )

AGENDA:  Our Agenda for the day:
1) reviewing the scoring rubric and appropriate test administration
procedures, based on the survey responses 
2)  do some practice scoring with "live" students and discuss the scores. 
3) We'll then do some additional scoring, and these will be handed in to CAL
to evaluate to determine trainer's inter-rater reliability and competency.
This will be in lieu of the IRR Tape, which is still in process, due to some
glitches CAL couldn't overcome before the 16th. 
4) Finally, we'll discuss training "promising practices" and CAL will
answer/address questions/concerns that have arisen this past year.  

IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND: For those of you who were not able to attend today, you
will need to complete the scoring competency piece of the refresher before
you can train this year.  (You can administer and score the test this year,
but not train others.)
