[Bestplus] IMPORTANT: BEST Plus Gain Revision

Hi, everyone--Iris Broudy, thanks for making me remember this is important
info to get out to our BEST Plus listserve. This was in the monthly
mailing, but wanted to make sure you all saw it too. If you have any
comments or questions, please let me know.

IMPORTANT: BEST Plus Gain Revision
Staff at the Center for Educational Assessment at UMass Amherst reviewed the
revised BEST Plus technical manual developed by the Center for Applied
Linguistics and determined that the original 51 scale score points to
determine 'significant gain" is too high. They are recommending 33 points so
we will be implementing that change in the next couple of weeks. All
current BEST Plus tests you give to students will automatically use 33, not
51.
Attached are the pages of the Assessment Policy manual that reflect this
change. Please print these pages and insert them into your August 2004
Assessment Manual so that it remains up to date.
