[Bestplus] Info update from CAL on BEST Plus

Hello, everyone! I'm forwarding some update info from Lauren Janzen at
CAL regarding BP. As NE is getting ready to do a BP training soon, I had
emailed to advise them of our upcoming training, and to check on the
status of the updated TAGs etc. Here is her response.

Hello Janet,

 

I am monitoring the training division of BEST Plus while Breana is on
maternity leave.  As such, I'll be checking the bptraining at cal.org email
constantly and answering the toll-free number (1-866-845-2378), as well
as responding to any questions forwarded to me by Bryan and Ryan (our
user support team).  Please feel free to contact me through any of these
channels, and I'll help you as best I can.

 

To answer your questions:  

 

We had hoped that the updated Test Administration Guide would be
distributed in January, but there have been several delays.  However, I
am happy to report that it is entering final production this week.  We
intend to distribute a packet of updated information to all trainers in
mid-May, including the updated TAG, Trainer Manual, and Powerpoint
presentation.  We have not settled the exact date yet when training
participants will begin to receive the updated version of the TAG.
However, trainers will receive these materials with enough time to
review them and prepare for their use before they are in the hands of
participants.  

 

As I mentioned, an updated Powerpoint presentation will be included in
the package all trainers will receive.  As the June 2004 version of the
presentation should match the participants' current Test Administrator
Guides more closely than the updated version of the presentation, please
continue to use your current supplies.

Hello, Breana! How have you been?

 

I'm not sure if the email that I sent to "bptraining" crosses your desk
or not, but I just wanted to check one or 2 things with you.

 

Back in October 2004, you had sent an email saying that the Test
Administration Guide for BP was being updated with an estimated date of
January 2005. Can you update us on the progress of any updates since
last year?  As you will note, Stacey Lubets will be doing a BP training
for NE SABES at the end of April, so I wanted to be sure that she has
access to the latest materials, as well as any updates we may need to
make to the TAGs for participants.

Hello from Massachusetts!

 

This is to advise you that we have scheduled a BEST Plus training for
April 30, 2005.

 

The training will be facilitated by BP Trainer, Stacey Lubets, and will
be held at the Eastern Massachusetts Literacy Council in Medford, MA.
We are expecting approximately 14 participants. Please be advised that
we will be forwarding the yellow Test Administrator Forms shortly after
the completion of the training.

 

In preparation for the training, please advise if there has been an
updated powerpoint presentation. I believe the last copy we had was from
June 2004.
