Hip, Hip Hooray for you, Teresa! Congratulations on your first training! and thanks for the tips. I too had thought that mixing up the participants would always help people step up to the task.
...and the transparencies....who woulda thunk!?
Have a well-deserved great weekend!
Betty
P.S. I'm gonna run right home to see if I have my goodies at my doorstep. Friday is closer than I think!

Great suggestions, Teresa. And congratulations to you for doing a great job
on your first training, despite some obstacles in your path.
Also, just so you all know, I spoke to Carol Van Duzer this morning, and she
let me know that Teresa, along with Mary Dubois, Betty Stone, and Nancy
Pendleton have all been certified by CAL as BEST Plus
trainers--congratulations to you all! She also said that those mentioned
above were sent all the training materials they needed on June 2, and should
have been received by you today. If you haven't received them, please let
me or Carey know ASAP. I will be out from Monday June 7 afternoon until
Friday morning.
Thanks--
Jane

Subject: [Bestplus] BEST Plus workshop
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a few tips from the workshop I did yesterday. I
recommend having a set of overhead transparencies on-hand; they saved the
day yesterday. Despite a perfectly fine, working LCD projector when I did
an equipment check at 8:45 a.m., when I needed it at 9:45 for the Power
Point show, the fan broke! Luckily, we were able to continue with the
transparencies, and only got about 10 minutes behind schedule. (Thank you a
million, Michelle, for thinking to send the overheads with the CD and
video.)
Half of the people at the workshop were from one program (mine), and half
weren't. When they did the practice administrations, I asked them to pair
with someone from a different program from their own. It worked really
well; I think everyone stayed more on-task, and I think it generated a
greater variety of questions in our discussion afterwards.
And I have to send a million thanks to Carey Reid for driving to Framingham
in those heavy thunderstorms Wednesday night to get back-up materials in
case the CD and tape from CAL didn't arrive before the workshop. (They did,
but just barely.) On behalf of the 12 trainees and myself, gracias, thank
you, merci, and all that!
