Jane has been exploring this co-training option with CAL and may have an
opinion from them soon.  The idea is gaining ground with many of us;
besides splitting workload, it adds another person to notice and help
struggling trainees.

To add to what Janet said, we co-trainers last Friday at NECC said
that it
would make a lot of sense to have two trainers do trainings, especially
for
larger groups. Two of us, with back to back trainings coming up this
month,
have already decided to work together, even though each would be paid
only
once. I don't know how this could be worked out financially. (Dori
McCormack, as our SABES CAC, has offered to attend a training I'm
doing in
August.) But it seems critical that the trainees be observed
carefully,
and there's a lot of presenting to be done as well. At our session on
Friday, there was no remote control for the VCR, so a second person
was
needed during the afternoon scoring session just to control the video.
One
trainer could have handled it, but it would have been difficult.

It might help if program directors are asked to emphasize to trainees
the
seriousness of this training and the commitment to "getting it."
During my
observation training one trainee was making rather sarcastic comments
for a
while, then at some point during the scoring sessions said, "Gee, I
guess I
should be more serious about this."

Good luck, everyone, in your training.
