Hello ALE Wiki Colleagues,
This has been a busy wiki week. By the end of today, when I present the
ALE wiki at the Summer Institute on Technology at the Centre for Literacy
in Montreal, we will have over 300 ALE Wiki subscribers!
We have three new people (Laura Sargent, Stephanie Korber and Valley
Peters)who have signed up on the WhosHere page, bringing that total to 28.
Welcome to Stephanie Korber, our newest Wikiteer. Stephanie is the area
coordinator for the new young adult literacy area.
Jackie Taylor has been adding to the Professional Development policy section.
Marie Cora has updated the definition sources page for the assessment
glossary
I have added to the glossary, and the technology area. I have also created
a new ESOL section. We still need an ESOL area coordinator. Any ideas?
This afternoon I will be introducing the ALE Wiki and the Writing Together
wiki in Montreal, where the folks at the Centre have also set up a wiki
for the conference itself. This might produce some interesting additions,
and possibly broaden our constituency to include more Canadians.
Trivia: Some people pronounce wiki: /weekee/. Some pronounce it /wihkee/
. According to the Wikipedia (what better source could there be?) both
are correct.
All the best,
David
Wikiteer
