Are you interested in getting your ABE Teacher's License, but need
support in doing so? SABES hosts once-a-month portfolio writing
sessions at three locations across the state. We have found that if
license-seekers set aside just four hours of work time per month, and
work together in a relaxed atmosphere with onsite support, progress
toward the license is assured.

The three groups of about 25 teachers currently meet as follows:

First Fridays of the Month at Holyoke Valley Opportunity Council from 10
- 2 PM.
First Saturdays of the Month at UMass/Boston from 10 - 2 PM.
Third Fridays of the Month at Bristol Community College from 12 - 4 PM.

License-seekers work right at computers, building portfolios that meet
the license requirements, with SABES's Carey Reid providing help as
needed. And lunch is provided by SABES!

These groups work best for teachers who have 3-5 years of experience
teaching adults, because the requirements are many fewer than for new
teachers.

Are you curious about our license-seekers cohorts, maybe even thinking
about joining up? Please contact Carey Reid at creid at worlded.org or
