STATEWIDE TRAINING
CP101 - Community Planning Coordinator Orientation

  

 


Target Audience:  People who are new to the role of ABE Community
Planning Coordinator or are new members of a Community Partnership

 

Date:               Monday, December 3, 2007 (Snow date December 10th)

 

Time:              10:00am - 3:00pm     Lunch will not be provided.  You
may bring your lunch              

                                                             or buy
lunch on campus.

 

            Place:              QCC, The Harrington Learning Center,
Room 239L

 

    Presenters:              Cathy Gannon, Central SABES Community

                                      Anne Holbrook, DOE, ABE Community

Topics addressed during this orientation for new ABE Community Planning
Coordinators and Partnership Members will include a review of the ABE
Community Planning Process (including the key components of a strategic
plan and assessment of assets and needs), the role of the ABE Community
Planning Coordinator, the role of community partnership members, and
resources available to support the partnership's growth and increased
effectiveness.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn first
hand from the experiences of other CP Coordinators and address issues
specific to the development of their community's partnership.

 

As a result of attending this orientation, participants will:

>develop an understanding of the purpose of ABE Community Planning

>become familiar with the ABE Community Planning Guidelines and
Reporting Requirements

>learn about resources available to increase their understanding of the
needs of their community and to support the growth of the partnership

>learn strategies to maintain and strengthen the community partnerships

>be able to list two specific actions that incorporate what they have
learned in the training (action plan)

 

            This workshop has been scheduled in Worcester because it is
a statewide training.  The location could change depending on
registrations.
