Dear ABE programs and members of the SABES SE family,

 

As a member of the planning committee for the conference, 'From Dream to
Reality, Grassroots Support for Student Success' I m pleased to invite
you and/or your colleagues to submit proposals to present workshops or
poster sessions for our community wide conference.  The conference
celebrates the success of the grassroots scholarship effort, 'Dollars
for Scholars', founded by Dr. Irving Fratkin 50 years ago.  During the
last five decades, his efforts have sparked a nation wide movement for
grassroots educational support.

 

All of us in the education community are aware of the persistance
challenge in area schools and colleges.  Too many young people are not
reaching their educational goals. Our committee, representing Bristol
Community College, the Fall River School Department, the Fall River
Rotary Club and numerous other education and social agencies, is excited
about bringing together leaders from all sectors of our communities to
examine the challenges and to propose community based solutions.

 

The Conference Committee recognizes the importance of the Adult Basic
Education community in supporting educational persistance and success in
our communities.  We look forward to receiving proposals for
presentations (see attached proposal form) to educate the broader
community about ABE in our area, and the unique educational methods and
approaches that enable so many ABE students to reach their goals.

 

Please submit all proposals by December 13, 2007.  We look forward to
receiving your dynamic proposals for this important conference.
