[Abesoutheast] Intro to Excel for the Classroom

Sorry for the somewhat short notice. Because of email address changes
here at BCC, it appears that the earlier notice did not get
through........

 

This 12/5 'Intro to Excel for the Classroom' is the same workshop that
was successfully presented at Tech Day '07 UMass Boston. It is based on
a spreadsheet that will be provided to you at the workshop on a CD that
contains multiple examples that can be used in a classroom to help teach
basic Excel skills:

 

-          resizing rows & columns

-          basic formatting of fonts & colors

-          simple addition, subtraction, multiplication & division

-          simple examples: budget, checkbook, shopping list,......

-          and MUCH MORE.........

 

It will be limited to 10 people, so please send in your registration
through the Sabes Calendar -> 

 

This workshop is appropriate for teachers who would like to attempt
teaching Excel to their ABE/ESOL students, but also for teachers and
administrators who would like to see what Excel is and how it can be
used. Keep in mind though, this is a VERY basic Excel class. If you look
at the list above, resizing rows and columns and changing fonts and
color appear to be too basic, but these simple concepts can completely
disrupt a student's learning process when they lose their data and don't
know how to get it back......As part of the workshop, and included on
the CD, are websites that can be used for additional Excel learning once
the workshop's basic Excel concepts are learned.
