Dear Workforce Solutions Partners:

Once again, it's time to act.

WSG has learned that Friday, February 9 has been set as the deadline for
members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives to communicate
their budget priorities to the Ways and Means Committee. This is the
first opportunity for us to consolidate your victories for workers and
employers alike in last year's Economic Stimulus Bill.

WSG's top budget priority this year is ensuring that the Workforce
Competitiveness Trust Fund is fully funded at $21 million and becomes
the Commonwealth's first permanent job training line item.

WSG asks you to call your state representative today and ask him/her to
tell Chairman Robert DeLeo that he/she supports the inclusion of the $21
million Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund in the House Ways and Means
Budget.

The State House Switchboard is 617-722-2000. Don't know who your
representative is?

WSG is also endorsing a number of other budget items and encourages you
to mention them to your representative.

LANGUAGES: $40 MILLION

*	7003-0803 SCHOOL TO CAREER CONNECTING ACTIVITIES: $7,129,687

informed choices about training programs.

*	4401-1000 EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM: $27,087,733

To provide education and training to welfare recipients.

*	EDUCATIONAL REWARDS GRANT PROGRAM: $1.5 MILLION

To give working adults the opportunity to get a grant to attend state or
community college part time in order to gain skills employers are
seeking.

Please share this information with friends, colleagues and clients.

Together, we can build a better Massachusetts.

Best regards,
