Friday)

(9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

 

Cost:               $140/per nonprofit agency staff ($125 for MIRA
members)

($370/cap per nonprofit $30 materials fee for more than 3 attendees)

$250/ per private attorney and staff

 

 

This training course is a three-day overview of immigration law with a
focus on employment and family-based immigration. Topics covered include
family-based immigration; Violence Against Women Act;
Citizenship/naturalization; the application process for permanent
residence; labor certification process, deportability and
inadmissibility grounds, immigration categories and eligibility for
state and federal programs; the new Healthcare Bill and BIA recognition
and accreditation.  Recent changes to the law and other updates will be
included.  

 

This training is partly sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Foundation
and Co-Sponsored by the Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD).
Other co-sponsors include International Institute of Boston, PAIR
project, Greater Boston Legal Services, Committee for Public Counsel
Services and Community Legal Services And Counseling Center. It is
intended for immigration service providers, CBOs and other
organizations, for staff new to immigration law, and for more
experienced staff in need of review or updates.
