Basic Literacy Program Manager, Hartford Literacy Center

 

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford, CT

 

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford, the largest private provider of
adult literacy services in the Hartford area, is seeking an experienced
program manager for our volunteer-based Basic Literacy program in the
Hartford Center.  Individual will provide oversight and direction of
small-group instruction program in reading and writing, serving
approximately 200 adults each year.  Individual will support and manage
a volunteer team of 50 -75 tutors and small support staff. In
collaboration with members of the program leadership team, individual
will develop and deliver volunteer training workshops and ongoing
in-service programs.

 

Must be committed to student-centered learning and a balanced approach
to reading and literacy development.  Must have undergraduate degree or
equivalent. Strong administrative skills to ensure accurate collection,
organization and analysis of assessment data.  Experience with
computer-based instruction and volunteer management preferred.
