Hi Tom,

Thanks for your research note on STAR.

Two comments:

1)	Where did the numbers relating to Septima Poinsette Clark come from? 
  She is a favorite of mine.

2	My hunch  is that it is really necessary to see what happens in the 
classroom in re meaning v. code;  aditionally, there  may be other 
factors leading to reading gains that will 		turn up in  such 
observation.
