To the list,

The National Council of State Directors of Adult Education has
completed its Waiting List survey from all the states for the 2005-06
school year. Over that period of time 93,840 potential students were
placed on waiting lists for services from those programs funded under
WIA Title II federal and associated state funds. The State Directors
will be using this data as part of the substantiation for their FY08
campaign for federal funding. Art Ellison, Co-Chair, Policy Committee

ProLiteracy does have waiting list information that we gather from our
Annual Affiliate Reports. We'd be glad to share that. For more
information, contact info at proliteracy.org.

Colleagues--

A related question: How about waiting lists for ProLiteracy?? Do
we have any info on this? I know some ProLiteracy programs operate on
their own, without state or federal support. This is VERY necessary
information, if we are to get a picture that accords somewhat with
reality.

probably be posted on the NCSDAE website. Art Ellison
