This short essay by a student who has been in our program for a decade, who reads around a 3rd grade level, tops, who is making progress, deriving benefit from her work, and seeks to make a contribution to others.

I say, any policy-legitimized AELS is as valid for adults at this person's "level" as it would be for those seeking their GED and community college entrance.

With others, I could multiply this example by 1000 x5

My Goal for School and Life

My goal is to keep working on it and get better at it. I like working with computers. You can learn a lot with computers. I would like to learn to get on the Internet. My life goal is to one day work with disabled people. I like to help people.
