I know it probably is too much of a generalization to speak of the Jewish
and Asian cultures as being those who highly regard education, etc. But, such
generalizations must hold some truth, wouldn't hear about it so frequently.
I also have friends from India, Turkey, Albania, and Amsterdam, who also
seem to value education in a way I am not used to. Maybe it is because I live in
a college town and am around people who are the "so-called" cream of the
crop. They didn't get here (U.S.A) to study on their good looks. However, many
of these people have mentioned to me that they are shocked at how little
Americans know about the geography of the world. So, it does make me wonder at
times if there is something we are missing. Linda
