The mandatory age of attendance in Kansas is 18. It has been 18 for almost 8 years. Students who are 16 or 17 may disenrolled by having a parent or guardian sign a disclaimer that illustrates the consequences of leaving school without a high school diploma. Learners under the age of 18 must present this disclaimer before they can receive adult education services.

Is there discussion in other states about raising the mandatory age of
attendance in K-12 school from 16 to 18? I am hearing rumors this is a
push in all states. Also what people think about that?
